M Core Charity and Events Committee: Fostering Community Engagement and Employee relationships

The Charity and Events Committee, an initiative developed by M Core’s senior leadership team, aims to engage all offices in local charitable activities and events.

Over the past months, M Core’s UK offices have collectively raised over £2,550 for various charities nationwide.

The committee has been active in supporting colleagues in their personal fundraising efforts outside of work. Notably, our Group Head of Facilities Management, Kevin Andrews, completed a monumental 15-day journey climbing Mount Everest, surpassing his fundraising target and raising £3,180 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The committee further supported Macmillan by collaborating with The Arcadian for Birmingham Pride.

For another consecutive year, the M Core team participated in the JLL Triathlon, where staff competed in various athletic events and raised over £590 for WWF.

Other donations to charities include The Alzheimer’s society, Mary Stevens Hospice and Help for Harry which raised £460 through a committee lead tombola at LCP House. Help For Harry focuses on supporting adults and children affected by any type of cancer in the Solihull and Birmingham area.

The committee also introduced a new Food Bank collection point at LCP House, successfully raising 146 meals and four trolley packs for the Black Country Food Bank in a single day.

In addition to these charitable efforts, the committee has played a pivotal role in organising team events designed to strengthen employee relationships and foster a positive working environment. Recently, M Core held its annual summer party, bringing together team members from all UK offices. This event celebrated the company's continued growth, which now boasts over 335 team members in the UK alone and aims help motivate the team to strive for even greater achievements in the coming years.

Supporting other departmental initiatives has also been a key objective for the committee. The HR-led NHS Wellbeing Checks, first conducted last month, provided staff with free health checks, including blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and pulse measurements. Due to popular demand, this initiative has been rescheduled for the end of July.

M Core has also hosted its first Retailer Golf Day event which brought together agents and retailers up and down the UK. We are hoping to continue this collaboration again next year.
