M Core acquires Food Anchored Convenience Centre in Uttoxeter
Carter Square is another asset aligned with the company growth plans. As we continue to strategically focus on targeting convenience led centres, parades and malls, this acquisition maintains our commitment to supporting local communities throughout the whole of the UK. We will be looking to engage with local residents and stakeholders over the coming months.
Evolve Estates, part of M Core, has acquired Carter Square, Uttoxeter, a valuable addition to its expanding retail portfolio in the North.
The retail-led scheme is in a historic market town, centrally located within Staffordshire, sitting 17 miles east of Stoke-On-Tent and 14 miles north-east of Stafford. Carter Square serves as the town’s prime retailing location and offers a modern convenience centre totalling 15 units across 68,241 sq ft, with anchor tenants including Asda, Home Bargains, Costa Coffee and a large carpark.
The regeneration master plan across the town centre, instigated by East Staffordshire Borough Council, will move forward in 2024, including the redevelopment of the centre, the Co-op building and the council owned bus station and carpark. The intention is to develop a mixed-use scheme, including residential, retail and leisure uses.
Andrew Cooper at Clarke Wilmott and Bradley Maher at Cited Property acted as the solicitor and agent, respectively, for Evolve Alistair Bird at Knight Frank acted as agent for the vendor, with Anita Zacharias at Hogan Lovells as solicitor.
